Durga Puja is more than a religious observance; it is the living heartbeat, supreme artistic canvas, and secular socio-economic lifeblood of West Bengal. PDSS has emerged as the definitive coordinating voice for all stakeholders.

Following UNESCO’s celebrated inscription of "Durga Puja in Kolkata" on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, the festival now carries a global mandate. Yet, countless grassroots artisans, sculptors, dhakis (traditional drummers), pandal technicians, and committee organizers still grapple with fragmented administration, insurance bottlenecks, and logistical challenges.

The Paschimbanga Durgapuja Samannay Samity (PDSS) brings together puja committees from Kolkata, Howrah, Hooghly, North and South 24 Parganas, and every district across the state. We act as a trusted liaison between state administration, municipal bodies, disaster management, police departments, sponsors, and craftsmen.
